In the 1980s, the government took bold decisions on seed production in order to increase agricultural yields, followed by the activities of various private enterprises. It was envisaged that if seed production, which requires intensive manpower, is carried out in Turkey, which is extremely favorable in terms of climatic conditions and soil quality, it can be produced at more affordable costs than foreign countries importing seeds due to its geographical location, and can be successfully exported to domestic and foreign markets. From this point of view, our company was founded with the aim of carrying out all kinds of industrial, agricultural and commercial activities related to agriculture and food industry. In 1983, upon the invitation of Mr. Furuya from Sumitomo - Istanbul, the positive relations that started with the visit of Mr. Ojima, a member of the Board of Directors of Kagome and a friend of Turkey, were reinforced with the visit of Mr. Vehbi Koç to Japan in 1985 and the visit of Mr. Dr. Nusret Arsel in 1985. As a result of Nusret Arsel's visits to Japan in 1985 and 1987 and his domestic support, and the courageous and constructive efforts of Tat Konserve Sanayi A.Ş., especially Tunç Uluğ, Selim Çomu, and Mr. Setsuhiro Otake, former Vice President of Kagome Co. Our company was officially established by Dr. Nusret Arsel, Tat Konserve Sanayi A.Ş., a subsidiary of Koç Holding, and other shareholder companies, in partnership with the Japanese companies Kagome Co. Ltd., Sumitomo Corporation and Kaneko Seeds Co. Ltd. with the registration number 236933/184499 of the Istanbul Trade Registry Office on September 3, 1987.
